DU Files Appeal Against Delhi HC Order Allowing Online Open Book Exams
With Stringent Conditions
Delhi University
has filed an appeal against the high court order allowing online Open Book
Examination to be conducted.
On August 7, Delhi
High Court had allowed DU to conduct its online OBE for final year students.
They were scheduled to start from August 10.
The Hon’le Court
had directed DU to comply with certain directions such as:
Question papers to
be available on the portal but they also have to be sent to email IDs of all
students
Students to be
given one hour extra to scan & upload answer sheets so a total of 4 hours
and PWD students will be given 6 hours
Students can also
convert their answer sheets into PDF files either question wise or in entirety
and e-mail the same to the central email address at obescript@exam.du.ac.in
All students were
to receive confirmation mails acknowledging that their answer sheets have been
accepted
DU to ensure that
official Email ID has enough capacity so emails are not bounced back from the
students
A Grievance Cell
was created, which was to resolve students grievances within 48 hours
Any grievances,
which are not addressed within the said period, shall be automatically referred
to a `Grievance Redressal Committee’. Grievance Redressal Committee would be
chaired by an ex Judge of Delhi HC, Justice Prathiba Rani, Grievance redressal
shall continue during the entire period of the examinations and shall not be
postponed till the end of the examinations, in order to ensure simultaneous
resolution of the same.
The next date pf
hearing is September 22.
The Appeal is
likely to be listed before a Division Bench of the Delhi HC this week.
